The HW400p/M brings the flexibility of a carrier-class, core processing platform to the PCI bus. By combining a standardized PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) site with a full featured PowerPC processor core, the HW400p/M addresses a wide range of I/O and protocol processing requirements.

Fitted with one of SBE's wanPMC modules, the HW400p/M provides high-density T1/E1/J1, DS3 (T3), or HSSI communications interfaces. At the same time, it can offload the host by processing protocol layers on board. The HW400p/M also accepts most third-party PMC modules, allowing integrators to address a wide range of requirements with a single common core architecture.

The HW400p/M is built on SBE's advanced HW400 core architecture, giving integrators form factor portability between the PCI and cPCI buses. The PowerPC CPU, fast SDRAM, optional FLASH memory, and 32/64 bit host PCI interface of the HighWire architecture meet the demands of today's telecom and datacom applications. Developer features include a 10/ 100 Ethernet port, dual RS232 ports, diagnostic LEDs and a VxWorks Developer's Kit. With these features, developers can reduce time-to-market for even the most complex applications.
