The VCOM-54 is a high-speed VMEbus serial controller that provides four or eight ports of T1 and E1 rate serial communications. The single slot VME 64-compatible VCOM-54 was the first communications controller to offer Motorola's 68360 Quad Integrated Communications Controller (QUICC) multiprotocol engine. Its use of a leading edge communications processor and VME-64 interface silicon offers enhanced features and performance at a low price per port. The VCOM-54 is available with a single QUICC chip for four port applications, or with two QUICCs for eight ports. The user has the option of connecting the high-speed ports through either the VME P2 connector or a front panel configuration. |
